Every facility will be available to make a film in Jharkhand… Hemant Soren told the complete plan of JFTI

The state government has prepared a better platform for the promising and creative youth of Jharkhand. Today, this platform is being formally established in collaboration with ‘Jharkhand Film Development Corporation Limited’, a part of the Government of Jharkhand, and ‘Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata’. However, the state government is taking the support of Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata for the further work to be done in this context, how this organization and this platform will be expanded.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren Said that today we all are watching the activities of many artists through various social media, newspapers and information systems. Some are making films, some are making reels, some are spreading their specialties to the common people in different fields. It can be said that this is a very creative field, which takes you from a small level to a big business field, where you are in front of the camera and a huge army is also behind the camera.

MoU signing marks the beginning of a new journey

Chief Minister Soren said these things while addressing the MoU signing ceremony between Jharkhand Film Development Corporation Limited and Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata held at Jharkhand Mantralaya Auditorium. The Chief Minister said that the signing of the MoU between Jharkhand Film Development Corporation Limited and Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata is the beginning of a new journey. A journey that will provide new technology, world-class facilities and a new national platform to the talented filmmakers and artists of Jharkhand. This is an unforgettable and historic moment.

Immense possibilities of film production

Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that there are many talents in Jharkhand which need greater recognition. Recently, a Santhali movie ‘Aangen’ received a big award and that filmmaker is also present here today. In the future, more such awards may come in the field of cinema, provided they need some refinement. This work of carving will now be done through Jharkhand Film and Television Institute (JFTI). He said that there is hardly anyone who does not know about Satyajit Ray Film Institute. It is one of the foremost organizations of the film world, which introduced the world to cinema. Many films were made in our state too, in which Satyajit Ray Saheb also worked.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that many famous films have been made in our state like Dil Bechara, M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story and Gangs of Wasseypur, apart from this, the film of the country’s veteran Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan was also made in Dhanbad. There is immense potential for film production in the state. A film director like Prakash Jha has also received his education from Jharkhand, who needs no introduction today. The Chief Minister said that a new dimension is going to start for our youth through this JFTI platform.

Positive result of state government initiative

Referring to SRFTI, Kolkata, Chief Minister Soren said that an experienced institution, which is recognized not only in the country but in the whole world, its usefulness and scope is so large that you have the ability to bring changes in the things around you with your skills. He said that today is a beginning and we would like to see its positive results in the coming days. Just as the youth and students of our state are earning name in the field of sports on a large scale in the country and the world, similarly there are possibilities in the field of art too.

In the context of Jharkhand, the Chief Minister said that today the line of Dr. Ramdayal Munda ji comes to mind, “Je Nachi Se Bachi”. This means that there is some artist hidden within the common people of this state. Due to many reasons perhaps that hidden artist is not able to come out. Today, with the help of this organization and Satyajit Ray Film Institute, those artists will be found, brought out and honed. He said that on this auspicious occasion, I wish you all the very best and many congratulations to all the artists for a better future.

On the occasion, State Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore and Vice Chancellor of Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI), Kolkata, Samiran Dutta, in his address, threw detailed light on the objective of the MoU signed between Jharkhand Film Development Corporation Limited and Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata.

The filmmakers who were honored include three-time National Film Award winner Biju Toppo, Raviraj Murmu, who comes from the Santhal community of East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand, who has been announced the National Film Award for his short film ‘Aangen’, Anuj Kumar, whose much-talked about films ‘Belonging to Untouchable God and The Turtle Story’ has been honored with the ‘Canadian Labor International Film Festival Award’. Niranjan Kujur, who was awarded the National Film Award for the Kudukh film ‘Edpa Kana’, was honored for his excellent, honest and brilliant artistic journey.

On this occasion, State Finance Minister Radhakrishna Kishore, Chief Secretary Avinash Kumar, Special Secretary Information and Public Relations Department Rajiv Lochan Bakshi, Vice Chancellor, Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI), Kolkata Mr. Sameeran Dutta, Dean SRFTI Sukante Majumdar, Director General of Sarala Birla University Professor (Dr.) Gopal Pathak, Vice Chancellor of Sarala Birla University Dr. C. Jagannath, Prof. Vinoba Bhave University. CB Sharma, Prof. Indranil Mukherjee of Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata, N. Banerjee and representatives of various universities and students were present in large numbers.
