The funeral rituals of late supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei are continuing in Iran. Leaders from all over the world have come to pay tribute to him. Iranian people are crying in the memory of their Supreme Leader. On Saturday, a large number of people gathered on the streets of the capital Tehran to bid their last farewell. Meanwhile, the statement of US President Donald Trump has come out. He has taken a sharp jibe at Iran. On the other hand, Iranian people raised slogans of Down with America.
US President Donald Trump took a dig at Tehran and said that America gave Iran a week’s time for the last rites because Washington is a good country. Addressing a gathering at Mount Rushmore ahead of America’s Independence Day celebrations, Trump referred to the recent conflict with Iran. During this, he justified the military action of the American administration.
‘Iran was badly defeated in the war’
In his address, Trump said that Iran has been badly defeated in the war. He said, “We defeated Venezuela in a day and beat Iran badly. They are desperate for a compromise. We gave them a week’s leave for the funeral because we are good people, it is true.”
‘One week’s time given for last rites’
Addressing a huge gathering at Mount Rushmore, Trump said, ‘We have completely shaken Iran. Till some time ago they were creating havoc, but we brought them to their knees. Now they want to compromise at any cost. As a humanitarian gesture, Iran was given a week’s time to complete the funeral rituals of the supreme leader. But immediately after this they will have to accept American conditions. The people present there applauded Trump’s statement.
Slogans raised saying ‘Down with America, Down with Israel’
On Saturday, during the funeral of the Supreme Leader in Grand Mosallah in Tehran, Iranians raised slogans of Down with America, Down with Israel and Badla, Badla. Such sounds were echoing all around. Holding pictures of late supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in their hands, people expressed their huge anger towards America and Israel.

Crowd gathered at Grand Mosallah religious complex in Tehran
A huge crowd is gathering at the Grand Mosallah religious complex in Tehran to bid last farewell to the Supreme Leader of Iran. Iranian authorities have kept Ali Khamenei’s body in a glass coffin so that people coming there can pay their respects. The coffin was brought to the venue with full respect. Along with Khamenei, bodies of other family members have also been kept. Which also includes the small coffin of his 14-month-old granddaughter Zahra. The photo of the girl is also kept near the coffin. Seeing this everyone’s eyes became moist. Khamenei’s funeral will be held on Thursday (9 July 2026) in the city of Mashhad in north-eastern Iran, which is his home.
