A big search operation is going on against terrorists in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir. On Thursday, security forces again targeted the hideouts of suspected terrorists in the Dorimal-Gambhir Mogla forest area. This was the sixth day of ‘Operation Sherwali’. The encounter continues on the seventh day. During the last few days of the operation, surveillance was done through drones. Here, movement of two-three Pakistani terrorists, including a commander, has been seen in the inner part of the forest.
Using this information, today the soldiers fired several rocket-propelled grenades (RPG) towards those targets. Security forces believe that this is the same place where terrorists are hiding. The purpose of the firing by the army was to provoke the terrorists to respond and find out their location. A plume of smoke came out of the dense trees from the RPG round. The smoke made it clear that direct attacks had been carried out on targeted areas. An officer said that to avoid damage due to dense trees and rough terrain, we are not taking any risk.

Searching for different hideouts of terrorists
The security forces have also tightened the cordon around these places. Intelligence information suggests that a terrorist was injured during a small firing incident that took place on Monday. Since then, troops have been conducting search operations and following the blood trails left by the terrorists to pinpoint their movements. After a brief exchange of fire, the security forces located a hideout of the terrorists and eliminated it. Because of this the scope of the siege was further reduced.
The help of helicopters, drones and search dogs is being taken in this joint action of the Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and paramilitary forces. Additional troops have been deployed to further strengthen the cordon, while checking of vehicles has been intensified on all routes leading to the area.
