Eliminator matches will be held in T20 World Cup 2028, ICC changed the format of the tournament

ICC has informed that a total of 20 teams will play in the T20 World Cup 2028, which will be held in Australia and New Zealand. In this format, now there will be Super 10 stage instead of Super 8. Meaning, after the first round, 10 out of 20 teams will qualify. (Photo-PTI)A total of 30 matches will be played in the group stage. 20 teams will be divided into five groups. Whereas earlier only four groups were formed. The top 2 teams of each group will reach the Super 10 stage. (Photo-PTI)A total of 20 matches will be played in the Super 10 stage. There will be two groups of five teams in this group and the matches will be in round robin format. The winning team in both these groups will get a direct place in the semi-finals. (Photo-PTI)The remaining two teams in the semi-finals will be decided by eliminator matches. In this, the second placed teams of both the groups of Super 10 round will compete against the number three teams of both the groups. The two winning teams in the eliminator will get tickets for the semi-finals. After this the semi-final and final matches will be played in the traditional manner. (Photo-PTI)
