May 23, 2026 by Uma Shankar

The Central Government has shown strictness regarding the technical problems encountered in the re-evaluation process of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Taking cognizance of the complaints of students and parents, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has called for a report from CBSE. Students had complained about payment failure, portal being stalled and problems in scanning copies of answer sheets.

Actually, after the declaration of board exam results, a large number of students are applying for re-evaluation and answer sheet verification. During this time the students faced many technical problems. Due to this, anxiety has increased among students and parents.

Technical glitch in re-evaluation?

According to sources, Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has asked CBSE why the server went down during the re-evaluation process and how problems occurred in the payment gateway. Students allege that the website was shutting down repeatedly while applying. Many people’s money was deducted but the application could not be completed. Some students also complained that the scanned copy of the answer sheet was blurry or pages were missing. Now the Education Ministry has asked for a report from the concerned agencies.

CBSE gave assurance to students and parents

Earlier, CBSE issued a statement. He said that the board will fully protect the interests of the students. According to the board, this year more than 98.6 lakh answer sheets were evaluated under the On-Screen Marking i.e. OSM system. After this, students were given the opportunity to take the scanned copy, get it verified and re-evaluated.

The board said that due to the huge number of applications in a short time, the pressure on the portal had increased. Due to this, technical problems arose for some time. However, the board says that all the complaints are being continuously monitored and corrective steps are being taken. CBSE said that students and parents do not need to panic as the entire process is being done in a fair manner.

Application date extended

CBSE said that in view of the technical difficulties, the last date for applications for re-evaluation and verification has been extended by one day to May 24 (today). Apart from this, for those students who have not yet received the scanned copy of the answer sheet, the portal will remain open for two days even after the final copy is sent. The board said that its purpose is to protect any student from harm.
