The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has raided several locations in West Bengal on Friday. This also includes the house of former Kolkata DCP Shantanu Sinha Biswas. This raid has been conducted in connection with the investigation of extortion racket related to Sona Pappu and Shantanu Sinha.
Shantanu Sinha Biswas, former IC and DC of Kalighat Police Station, Kolkata, is in ED custody in land and financial matters. Shantanu Sinha Biswas has a palace like house in Kandi, Murshidabad. His ancestral house is in ward number 8 of Kandi Municipality. But this house is closed for the last seven days.
Shantanu Sinha Biswas’s sister Gauri Sinha Biswas is the vice chairman of Kandi Municipality. He too is not in this house right now. However, due to the lockdown, ED officials are investigating from outside the house. He talked to the local people.
Shantanu Sinha’s ancestral house is situated in Kandi. This house was closed for many days. A team of ED officials reached there, broke the lock and entered the house. Central force personnel surrounded the entire area. It is being told that a team of 8 to 10 officers conducted an investigation and search operation inside the house. Due to this incident, there was a lot of hustle and bustle in the area since morning.
