
Financial assistance of Rs 2.6 crore announced by UAE-based Indian entrepreneur Dr. Shamsheer Vayalil for the families affected by the Emirates Road accident in Dubai was extended to the families of the employees killed in Telangana and Uttar Pradesh. 7 employees including 6 Indians lost their lives in this accident. Apart from the dead, help was also given to those injured in the accident. Not only this, the daughter of an employee killed in the accident was said to be given a chance to study nursing and get a job in UAE.
Representatives of Dr. Shamsheer’s office met the families of 6 Indian employees killed in the accident. He traveled to rural areas of Telangana and Uttar Pradesh to meet the bereaved families, express condolences on the accident and hand over financial assistance. Whereas a representative was also sent to the house of the Sri Lankan employee who lost his life in the accident where he also met the family members.
Help of Rs 26-26 lakh to the family of the deceased
Under the humanitarian rehabilitation programme, Rs 26 lakh is being given to the family of each deceased employee. Assistance for further education of the children of the affected families is being assessed and for this, direct coordination will also be done with the families. On June 8, a major road accident took place in Dubai in which a mini bus collided with a parked truck, resulting in the death of 7 people.
Of the 6 Indians killed in the accident, 3 were from Telangana. They were Salim Syed Hussain, 51, of Namilikonda in Jagityal district, Abdul Rafiq Abdul Rahim, 37, of Kaddam in Nirmal district, and Tirupati Gollapalli Chandraiah, 23, of Thakkalapalle in Jagityal district.
Salim is survived by his wife Syed Ghoribi as well as three children. Family members told that he had gone to UAE about two and a half months ago to build a good house and help in the education of his children. One of his children also has some health related problems, while talks for the marriage of his elder daughter had started.

The parents of Tirupati, who died in the accident, had high expectations from their son. He went to UAE for the first time about seven months ago. He often talked about working abroad and the many different challenges he faced at home. Whereas Abdul Rafiq is survived by his wife Razia Begum and his younger daughter Rida Fatima. His family members and village people remember him as a friendly and helpful person.
Abdul Rahman, father of Abdul Rafiq, had lost his two more children in a road accident in Telangana about 11 years ago in 2015. Now a new challenge has come before him again. The father said that this latest accident has once again forced the family to struggle to get life back on track.
Talk about job in UAE after studies
Apart from Telangana, only 3 people from Uttar Pradesh lost their lives in the accident. These included 38 year old Abdul Rashid Zakir Hussain of Kopaganj in Mau district, 39 year old Markandey Chauhan Bhajan Chauhan of Khurhat in Mau and 31 year old Mohammad Saqib Liaqat Ali of Sahaspur in Bijnor district. His family also came into trouble due to this accident.

Markandey’s family in Mau recalled his longtime work in the Gulf countries and the dreams he had for his children. He is survived by his wife Saraswati Devi as well as three children, including 17-year-old Ankita Chauhan, who has recently completed her 12th standard.
During the meeting, Dr. Shamsheer, Founder and Chairman of VPS Health, spoke to the family through video call. When Ankita told that she wants to do BSc Nursing, Dr. Shamsheer assured her, “We will help you complete your studies. Study well and complete the course. After that, we will be happy to call you here. Markandeya ji will be remembered through you every day.”
For the last time the matter of going abroad turned out to be final.
In Kopaganj, Abdul Rasheed’s family said that he had gone there just two months before receiving news of the accident. He is survived by his wife Farida Khatoon and 3 younger daughters. “He told us that this would be his last trip abroad for job and after returning he would not go again,” said Mohammad Amir, the wife’s brother.
The family says that Abdul Rashid wanted to educate his children well and improve the small house in which he currently lives. Similarly, in Sahaspur, Bijnor, the family of Mohammad Saqib told that he had gone to Dubai for the first time about 8 months ago after working as an aluminum fabricator. He hoped that he would be able to help his mother and sisters. Despite the difficulties, he stayed there, hoping that the UAE would help him create stability for his family.
Financial help also reached Sri Lanka, where a representative from Dr. Shamsheer’s office went from Colombo to Mullaitivu district. There he met the family of 34-year-old Samuel Rengasamy, who was the sole earning member of his family. He is survived by his wife Rajaratnaraja Jeevrani and a young daughter.
9 injured also got help
Nine people injured in the accident have also been given financial assistance along with their employers. This help was given based on the severity of their injury and recovery needs. Of the 9 injured, 8 are Indian citizens. Of these, 3 are from Uttar Pradesh, 2 from Rajasthan and one each from Kerala, Telangana and Bihar. One injured employee is a citizen of Nepal.
Of these injured, 4 people were handed over this amount in the UAE, while 3 others, who are currently in India, were transferred to their accounts. Whereas money has been deposited in the accounts of two seriously injured laborers who are still undergoing treatment in a hospital in Dubai.
