According to mythology, Draupadi was born from the fire of Yagya Kund. She was the daughter of Maharaja Drupada of Panchal. Draupadi is also called Indrani. Draupadi was a beautiful girl in her previous birth, but that girl did not find a suitable groom for marriage. Then the girl did penance for Lord Shiva. Pleased with his penance, Lord Shiva asked him to ask for a groom. The girl asked for five suitable grooms. Lord Shiva also gave a boon. In this way she got the blessing of five husbands.

Draupadi put the garland around Arjun’s neck.

When the same girl was born in the form of Draupadi, King Drupada organized his daughter’s swayamvara. In this, Pandavas arrived disguised as Brahmins. Arjun won Draupadi’s swayamvar and Draupadi put a garland around his neck. After this, the five brothers along with Draupadi reached Mother Kunti. Arjun said to Mother Kunti, look what kind of thing we have brought. Without even looking, Kunti told the five brothers to divide whatever they had brought among themselves. When Kunti looked back, it was Draupadi.

Draupadi respected Mahadev’s boon

After this he felt very remorseful, but what could Kunti do? What he was talking about was the boon of Mahadev himself, which Draupadi had asked for from Lord Shiva in her previous birth as a beautiful girl. Lord Shri Krishna told Draupadi about the boon she had asked for. After this, Draupadi, following the boon of Mahadev and the orders of mother Kunti, married the five Pandavas. Due to being the wife of five Pandavas, Draupadi is also called Panchali.
