Karan Johar Dostana 2 Update: Karan Johar’s ‘Dostana 2’ has been stuck for almost 8 years and now many people have given up hope of its making. Earlier, Karthik Aryan’s card was cut from it, due to which his fans got a big shock. New updates are continuously coming out on ‘Dostana 2’. Once again clouds of trouble are looming over this sequel. Now the news has come out that the captain of this film i.e. the director has left it. However, there is no official confirmation from the makers yet.
After production delays, casting changes and several attempts to restart the film Karan Johar ‘Dostana 2’ has once again come into limelight. In a recent report it has been said that filmmaker Advait Chandan has withdrawn from this project. However, no confirmation has been given by the makers regarding this step.
Dostana 2 gets another shock
Initially, Colin D’Cunha was going to direct Karan Johar’s ‘Dostana 2’. But he left the production midway. After this, the name of Advait Chandan was associated with this project, who is famous for films like ‘Secret Superstar’ and ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’. Earlier, reports surfaced in February 2026 had claimed that Advait Chandan will direct the new version of ‘Dostana 2’, in which Vikrant Massey, Lakshya and former Miss India World Sini Shetty will be seen. But now according to the recent report of Variety India, Advait Chandan has also left ‘Dostana 2’.

Why did the director leave Dostana 2?
The latest report claimed that Advait Chandan has left the project due to creative differences with the makers. Generally, with the change of director, rumors of turmoil behind the scenes start flying. But it is being said that Advait’s departure from this project is with mutual consent and there is no rift with the makers. After Advait’s exit, Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions is once again looking for a creative leader to get the long-delayed sequel back on track.
