
Under the auspices of Indraprastha Vishwa Samvad Kendra, a grand event of ‘Devarshi Narad Journalist Award Ceremony 2026’ was organized at the Speaker Hall of the Constitution Club on Tuesday. Senior journalist Rahul Kanwal was the chief guest, while Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) all-India publicity chief Sunil Ambekar was the keynote speaker. The special guests present at the program included Narendra Thakur (All India Co-Promotion Chief, RSS), Vishal (Delhi Province Co-Promotion Chief, RSS) and Rajesh (Delhi Province Co-Promotion Chief, RSS).
Addressing the Devarshi Narada Journalist Award Ceremony 2026, keynote speaker Sunil Ambekar (All India Publicity Head, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) said that journalists should bring out the truths of the society so that it can help in building a better society. He stressed that journalists should not involve themselves in politics while covering political news. Sunil Ambekar said that social issues should not be seen only from political perspective. He said that today India is making positive progress in every field. He said that it was only because of the good functioning of the government that India remained safe from the impact of global events. He further said that like the rest of the world, India is also making full use of technology.
Technology should be used for the good of humanity
However, any technology should be used for the good of humanity. Ambedkar said that technology like AI should be used to enrich the tradition of knowledge. He said that no new technology can ever replace humans. He said that the future belongs to India; Therefore, everyone should work together for national interests.
Twelve journalists honored in various categories
Twelve journalists were honored in various categories in this awards ceremony. The awardees include Pooja Rana (Senior Co-Editor, OpIndia) in the ‘Outstanding Young Journalist’ category; Garima Upreti (Editor, Know the Nation) in the category ‘Outstanding Journalism on Women’s Issues/Sensitivity’; Himani Dewan (Senior Assistant Editor, Kisan Tak) in the ‘Best Rural/Environmental Journalism’ category; Vimal Tyagi (Public Mitra) in the ‘Best Content Creator (YouTube)’ category; Mayank Baliyan (@Baliyan_x) was honored in the ‘Best Content Creator (X)’ category and Manogya Tiwari (Manukahat) was honored in the ‘Best Content Creator (Instagram)’ category.

Apart from this, Prabhat Ranjan Mishra (The Pamphlet) in the ‘Best Investigative/Courageous Journalist’ category; Neeraj Kumar Dubey (Editor, Prabhasakshi) in the ‘Best Digital Journalist’ category; Nihal Singh (Deputy Chief Reporter, Dainik Jagran) in the ‘Best Print Journalist’ category; Dr. Ram Kinkar Singh (Special Correspondent, PTI Video) in the ‘Best TV Journalist’ category; Shashwat Panigrahi in the ‘Best Columnist’ category; And Ramanuj Sharma (News Editor, Hindustan Samachar) was honored in the ‘Outstanding Innovative Journalist’ category. Each of them was honored with a certificate, a memento, a shawl and a check of ₹ 11,000.

Indraprastha Vishwa Samvad Kendra had invited online entries for ‘Devarshi Narada Journalist Samman 2025’ in these 12 categories. A special jury was formed to evaluate the entries received in these categories and select the journalists to be honored. The jury included Smt. Mamta Verma, Director General, DD News, Raj Kishore, Senior Consulting Editor, Amar Ujala Group, Rohit Vishwakarma, Managing Editor, NDTV India, Brajesh Kumar Singh, Group Editor (Convergence), Network18, Aishwarya Pandit, Managing Director, ITV Network and Harish Chandra Baranwal, Senior Vice President, Blue Craft Foundation.
Future of journalists in the era of AI
Addressing the award ceremony, chief guest senior journalist Rahul Kanwal said that in today’s technology era, where AI is efficiently doing the work which was traditionally done by journalists. Many people associated with this profession think about the future of journalism because machines have now started writing news stories. Instead of looking anywhere else to get the answer to this question, we should look towards Devarshi Narad, the oldest communicator and first journalist of our civilization.
He said that the important thing was not just that they delivered news, but how they delivered it. They did not stay at one place. He met people, listened to them and understood the context. He facilitated communication between different regions. AI cannot play this role, only a journalist can do this.
Addressing the gathering, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Delhi state joint secretary (co-functioning) Rajesh Kumar gave information about the programs organized in Delhi during the centenary year of the Sangh. Mr. Brajesh Kumar Singh, Group Editor (Convergence) of Network18 and member of the jury explained about the process of selection of journalists honored with ‘Devarshi Narada Patrakar Samman 2026’.
