Why Did Shah Rukh Khan Reject Don 3: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s blockbuster film ‘Don’ was released in the year 1978. The film was a blockster. Don, made for around Rs 70 lakh, had earned more than Rs 7 crore. Years later, this film was remade by Farhan Akhtar with Bollywood’s King Shahrukh Khan. Shahrukh’s first Don came in 2006 and the second in 2011. Both the films made bumper earnings. But when there was discussion about making ‘Don 3’, it came to light that Shahrukh does not want to do Part 3.
After this the makers Ranveer Singh Announced to be the new don of Hindi cinema. After a few years, Ranveer also left ‘Don 3’. It is claimed that Ranveer Singh left Farhan Akhtar’s film on the basis of creative differences. Some reports also said that Ranveer did not want to do a gangster film again after the ‘Dhurandhar’ franchise, so he pulled back. However, no statement has been given by Ranveer in this regard. In such a situation, we know why Shahrukh Khan had failed the film years before Ranveer.
Why did Shahrukh Khan tease ‘Don 3’?

In that report, the source was quoted as saying, “It is not that Shahrukh Khan did not like the script. But he was not completely convinced. He knows that Don is an iconic role and wants to do this film only when he is completely confident about the script. The environment of the box office is not right. That is why he wants to make sure before saying yes.”
It was further told, “At present, Farhan Akhtar is back to work. We can hope that when he meets Shahrukh next time, he will happily sign ‘Don 3’. This will make the fans ecstatic. When the ongoing speculations about the film have created so much craze, then just imagine what will happen the day the makers announce “Don 3”.
Told the makers my decision
Later, after the release of Pathan, Pinkvilla in one of its reports quoted a source as saying that Shahrukh has given his decision to Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment and he is not going to do ‘Don 3’. The source had said, “(Shah Rukh) wants to do films that will appeal to a large section of the audience, and ‘Don’ does not fit into the bracket of the kind of cinema he wants to do in the coming years. He has informed the stakeholders of Extel about his decision.”
