It is believed that this bow used to handle the energy of Lord Shiva.

Kodand

Kodanda was a very divine and powerful bow. This bow has been described many times in Ramcharit Manas written by Swami Tulsidas. Lord Rama had destroyed many demons including Ravana, Kumbhakarna with this bow. It is believed that because it was made of very hard bamboo, this bow was named Kodand. It is believed that in order to dry up the ocean in anger, Lord Rama used this very bow to direct Brahmastra. This bow was five and a half hands long and weighed 100 kg.

Sharng

Sharng bow is considered to be the favorite bow of Lord Vishnu. It is also called Sharkh. There is a religious and mythological belief that this bow was worn by Lord Vishnu in his Shri Krishna incarnation also. Like Pinaka, this is also considered to be a very powerful bow. This bow is considered so powerful that it is said that no one can handle it except Lord Vishnu and his incarnations. Lord Krishna had used it many times in wars.

Arjun’s special bow Gandiva is mentioned several times in the epic Mahabharata. It is believed that this bow was gifted by Agnidev to Arjun. This was an invincible bow.
