
On July 1, one year of implementation of e-office system in Delhi government will be completed. On this occasion, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that a big change has been seen in the government work in the last one year. Instead of paper files, most of the work is now being done online, due to which the disposal of files has increased and the administration has become more transparent and accountable than before.
The Chief Minister said that now the status of any file can be easily tracked through the e-office system. It can be found out with which officer the file is pending and what action has been taken on it. This keeps records safe, reduces unnecessary delays and also improves coordination between departments.
Administration became faster and accountable through e-office
He said that till March 8, 2025, 5,005 officers and employees of 198 departments and offices of Delhi Government were connected to the e-office system. By June 27, 2026, this number has increased to 15,748 officers and employees of 235 departments and offices.
Rekha Gupta Said that due to the different functioning of all the departments, the e-office system has been developed in three categories. The first category is for government departments, the second for public undertakings, boards, corporations, commissions, committees, autonomous and local bodies and the third for universities, colleges and other educational institutions.
Use of e-office is mandatory
He said that the use of e-office had been made mandatory in all government departments of Delhi Government from July 1, 2025. Currently 132 government departments are connected to this system, where 11,940 active users are working.
According to the Chief Minister, between July 1, 2025 and April 12, 2026, 1,14,603 e-files and 7,14,091 e-receipts were processed in government departments. Whereas between April 13, 2026 and June 27, 2026, 23,767 e-files and about 1.53 lakh e-receipts were disposed of, which shows the increasing use of e-office.
3,090 active users are working through e-Office in 55 institutions of public sector undertakings, boards, corporations, commissions, committees and other autonomous and local bodies. In these institutions, 4,672 e-files and 55,132 e-receipts were disposed of between April 15 and June 27, 2026.
Emphasis on speed and accountability in work
Similarly, 718 active users are using the e-office system in 48 institutions of universities, colleges and other educational institutions. 1,267 e-files and 3,051 e-receipts were processed in these institutions between April 17 and June 27, 2026,
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the aim of the Delhi government is to develop such an administrative system where the work is fast, transparent and accountable and people do not have to wait unnecessarily for government services. He said that in the coming time, the scope of e-office system will be further expanded so that good governance in Delhi can be further strengthened.
