Diljit Dosanjh’s most awaited film ‘Punjab 95’ has finally been released after a long wait. However, the name of the film has been changed. Now the name of the movie has not been named Punjab 95, but ‘Sutlej’. For the last three years, this film was not being released due to some reason or the other, due to which the fans were eagerly waiting for it.
Now finally the film has been released on the OTT platform on Friday, that too with a new name. As soon as the news of the film’s release came out, it was being discussed a lot on social media. The audience has also become very excited about this film which was stuck for a long time.
Why was Diljit’s film stuck?
The release of the film ‘Sutlej’ (earlier ‘Punjab 95’) has been stuck for a long time due to controversies related to the Censor Board (CBFC). This film is based on the life and death of social worker Jaswant Singh Khalda. Earlier it was to be released worldwide in February last year, but its release was postponed at the last moment. Now after a long wait, this film is streaming on ZEE5.

Why was the name of the film changed?
In fact, when the film was sent to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), the board asked for 120 changes (cuts) in it and also objected to the name of the film. Later Shiromani Gurdwara Management Committee (SGPC) intervened in this matter. After this there was relief regarding many cuts. But the condition of changing the name of the film remained intact. For this reason, first it was named ‘Punjab 95’ and now finally it was released with the name ‘Sutlej’. Interestingly, the trailer of the film was released on YouTube in the year 2022, but it was removed within a day.
