America’s National Intelligence Director (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard has made some new documents and emails public on the last day of her tenure. It has been claimed in these documents that before the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the then head of America’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), had given funding of millions of dollars from American taxpayers for the research being done on coronavirus related to bats at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV).
It is alleged in the documents that this research may later be linked to the lab leak, which some people consider to be the possible cause of the Covid-19 pandemic. However, there are still different opinions in the scientific world regarding the origin of Covid and this issue remains controversial.

What allegations were made against Fossey?
Documents released by Tulsi Gabbard claim that Fossey, along with some officials of American intelligence agencies, tried to suppress the facts related to the origin of Covid. It is alleged that he played a role in undermining the lab-leak theory and promoting the story of the natural origin of the virus.
According to the documents, Fossey passed on the opinions of his favorite scientists to intelligence agencies and the same findings were later presented as scientific consensus.

Gabbard’s office claims that the released conversations and emails do not match Fauci’s testimony before Congress in 2024. At that time he was asked whether he had talked to FBI, CIA, DIA or other American intelligence agencies regarding Covid or virus research.
It is alleged that Fauci had denied any such information at the time, while new documents indicate the contrary.
Whistleblowers made serious allegations
Along with the documents, the testimony of several whistleblowers has also been mentioned. According to him, the intelligence analysts who supported the lab-leak theory faced pressure. Some were warned not to get promotions, while one employee was fired a few days after complaining.
Whistleblowers also allege that confidentiality was removed in the complaint process, which created an atmosphere of fear among the people.
What did Tulsi Gabbard say?
Tulsi Gabbard said that the Covid pandemic affected crores of people around the world and took millions of lives. According to him, the American people should now get complete truth, transparency and accountability.
Gabbard says that these documents have been brought to light after a year-long process. He alleges that some officers worked to hide their mistakes, silence critics and influence intelligence information. Now these cases have been sent to the Inspector General of the Intelligence Community for further investigation.
