King Khan had a big role in the success of a superhit Marathi film, and if he had not helped, perhaps this film would not have created history today. We are talking about the Marathi film ‘Deool Band 2’ which is currently creating havoc at the box office. Made with a budget of just Rs 6 crore, this small-scale film has broken all records at the box office and has done a great business of more than Rs 80 crore so far. But very few people know that Shahrukh Khan’s generosity is hidden behind this historic success. The film’s director Praveen Tarde has revealed the secret of how the film’s bill of around Rs 40 to 45 lakh was waived off because of Shahrukh.
Praveen Tarde got emotional and recalled that difficult time when the future of the film was hanging in the balance. He told, “The budget of the film was completely exhausted. We did not even have money left to prepare the DCP (Digital Cinema Package) of the film. DCP is a digital format, without which no film can be released in theatres. We gave this work to Shahrukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment. Our initial budget was Rs 12 lakh, which gradually increased to Rs 42-45 lakh. We had such a huge amount of money. There was no way to repay.”
The matter reached Shahrukh Khan and a miracle happened
Praveen Tarde further said that when no solution was found, he requested the company officials to resolve this matter somehow. Shahrukh Khan To be delivered to. Praveen Tarde said, “As soon as the people of Red Chillies heard that this is a film of the director who made ‘Mulshi Pattern’, they immediately understood. Actually, Salman Khan starrer film ‘Antim: The Final Truth’ was the official remake of this ‘Mulshi Pattern’, so they knew our work very well.”
Praveen told that as per the rules, DCP could not be released without full payment. But when Shahrukh Khan came to know about this situation, what he did won everyone’s heart. Shahrukh asked his team how the film was made? When his team told that the film was well made, SRK said, “What about the money, we will see later also. Red Chillies waived the entire bill of Rs 40-45 lakh for the film. Praveen Tarde said that the generosity shown by Shahrukh sir brought our film alive. His contribution in this success is very special.”
