Sahni, who calls himself “Son of Mallah”, has been continuously visiting all the districts of Uttar Pradesh for the last few months and running a campaign to organize Nishad, Mallah, Kevat, Bind and other riverside communities, but for the second time in a row, Uttar Pradesh Police has banned his program in the midst of his campaign.
House arrest in Lucknow before going to Shahjahanpur
This time Mukesh Sahni was stopped in Lucknow even before going to Shahjahanpur. VIP alleges that he was put under house arrest in Lucknow and was not allowed to go to Shahjahanpur. Sahni was going to participate in the program ‘Uttar Pradesh Samvad and Night Stay’ there. Along with this, meeting the families of the victims of some murders that have taken place in recent times and raising the demand for justice was also a part of his programme.

According to the statement issued by the party, based on the report of Shahjahanpur Superintendent of Police, the administration expressed apprehension that Sahni’s visit may affect law and order and social harmony. On this basis, he was stopped in Lucknow itself and instructions were given to keep a watch on his movement.
Mukesh Sahni’s attack on UP government
After the action, Mukesh Sahni launched a scathing attack on the Uttar Pradesh government. He said that preventing any public representative from going among the public is against the spirit of democracy. Describing it as an “undeclared emergency”, he said that the government is afraid of the public voice and the activities of the opposition. Sahni said that if a leader is stopped from attending his scheduled program, then it is a clear indication that the government is running away from dialogue.
‘The movement is not going to stop…’
He alleged that efforts are being made to suppress the fight for rights, rights and reservation of the Nishad community. However, he clarified that such action is not going to stop his movement. According to him, the Nishad community has now become aware of its rights and will continue the fight for respect in a democratic manner.

The administration says that this action has been taken only for the purpose of maintaining law and order, while VIP is calling it a violation of democratic rights and political repression.
