Demand for NIA investigation into CJP’s protest, Delhi High Court will hear tomorrow

July 23, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Delhi High Court has agreed to hear the PIL demanding NIA investigation into Cockroach Janata Party’s protest and its march to Parliament on July 20. The matter was mentioned for urgent hearing before the bench of Chief Justice DK Upadhyay and Justice Tejas Karia. Advocate Barun Kumar Sinha appeared on behalf of the petitioner and demanded urgent listing of the case.

The lawyer told the court, “This is related to the so-called student movement, which has made entire Delhi hostage. We want it to be listed tomorrow. Roads have been blocked and the people of Delhi are worried.” After this the court agreed to hear the case on Friday, July 24. This petition has been filed by Satish Kumar Aggarwal, former vice-president of All India Hindu Mahasabha. It has been alleged in the petition that this movement was politically motivated and it was supported by foreigners with the aim of destabilizing the country.

Those responsible should be identified

Aggarwal has sought instructions to direct NIA or any other special agency to investigate the protest, take over all the FIRs registered by Delhi Police in connection with the incident and identify and prosecute those allegedly responsible for violence, vandalism and disruption of emergency services.

It has been said in the petition that this demonstration was not a real student movement, but was part of a bigger conspiracy. It has further been said in the petition that it is necessary to state that the so-called protest is not actually a genuine protest by the students or for the concerns related to the students. Rather, it appears to be part of a larger conspiracy allegedly hatched by anti-nationals and foreigners with the intention of destabilizing the country by taking advantage of financial influence and money.
