This laptop has a 13-inch 2.5K touch display, which supports 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut. With this, users get to see better colors and great visual quality. The display also has a variable refresh rate ranging from 30Hz to 120Hz. According to the company, this feature helps in striking a balance between smooth visual experience and better battery life.
Features like backlit keyboard, Intel Wi-Fi 7, Windows Hello support, quad speakers and USB-C connectivity are provided as standard in all models. The Dell XPS 13 can be configured with up to 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of storage. The body of the laptop is made from aluminum and it will be available in Sky and Storm color options. Dell says that the new XPS 13 is the company’s thinnest and lightest XPS laptop to date. Its thickness is only 12.7 mm, while its weight is kept at around 1 kg.
Dell’s focus on students and young professionals
Dell has designed XPS 13 especially keeping students and young professionals in mind. According to the company, during the back to school season, students aged 16 years and above will get this laptop at a special price of $599. Its starting price for general customers has been kept at $699. Dell believes that currently people are looking for affordable but premium experience laptops. This is the reason why the company has introduced its new model with such features which claim to give an experience like an expensive laptop.
Lighter than MacBook Neo, display also bigger
Dell claims that the new XPS 13 is its thinnest and lightest machine yet. According to the company, it is about half a pound (226 grams) lighter than Apple’s MacBook Neo and it also has a larger display. It is noteworthy that Apple launched the MacBook Neo series in March, the starting price of which was kept at $599. Its price for students starts from $500. The MacBook Neo competes with Chromebooks and affordable Windows laptops. Dell Chief Operating Officer Jeff Clark said that the MacBook Neo is a good product, but customers should have better options at an affordable price. With this thinking in mind, the company has launched XPS 13 in the market. The new XPS 13 will soon be available with Intel Core Series 3 processors, while a model with Intel Core Ultra Series 3 and Storm color is expected to hit the market by the end of summer.
