June 25, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Cabinet Minister Ashish Sood has informed about bringing a new law for the safety of students in coaching centers of Delhi. He has said that this new law will be made on the recommendation of Justice Gauba Committee. He told that the draft of the new law will be ready in the next 3 months. He said that there will be a law regarding safety norms and fee regulation in coaching centres. He told that within a month, safety and finance audit of 924 coaching centers in Delhi will be conducted and strict action will be taken if any violation of rules is found. NCERT’s step is good, it is important for the country and the youth to know about the atrocities that happened during the Emergency.

Taking a lesson from the incident, the Delhi government has ordered an audit of 924 coaching centers in Delhi so that no incident like the Lucknow coaching center fire occurs. Also, a new law will be brought in the next quarter to regulate coaching centres. Speaking to TV9 Bharatvarsha, Delhi Minister Ashish Sood said that keeping in mind the recommendations of Justice Gauba Committee, we had formed a committee under the chairmanship of Technical Education Director to make rules and prepare laws. How will the coaching centers run? What will be their fees? What kind of education the students are getting here, everything will be seen.

Notice will be given to those who do not follow the rules

Ashish Sood said that we are very saddened by the fire incident in Lucknow. Delhi is the capital of the country, here students from all over the country come to Delhi to study. In view of the unfortunate incidents that happened in the nearby states, we have inspected the buildings of these 924 coaching centers in a month and have directed the Corporation to do the investigation by making it the nodal agency. Based on this investigation, centers which do not comply with the standards will be sealed and given notices, and an audit will also be conducted within a month.

NCERT to include a section on ‘Emergency’ in Class 9 textbook Education Minister Ashish Sood said how were people lifted from their homes overnight? Detained in police stations for months without charge. Today’s generation should know all these things and incidents of emergency. So that they can be prepared to protect the freedom of expression that exists in the country today and understand how valuable it is.
