
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta traveled from her residence to Delhi Secretariat via Metro and DTC bus under the Metro Monday initiative for the second consecutive Monday, during which she appealed to the citizens of the capital to make public transport a part of their daily lifestyle. He said that participation of every citizen is important in fuel conservation, pollution control and traffic management.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta Said that the objective of the Mera Bharat, Mera Contribution campaign launched by the Delhi Government on the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to motivate citizens to use public transport at least one day a week and to give the form of a mass movement to fuel saving and environmental protection. During the metro and bus journey, the Chief Minister also interacted with the passengers and learned about their experiences.
He said that it is satisfying to see that a large number of Delhiites are making public transport a part of their daily routine. This not only provides people with safe, affordable and convenient travel options, but also helps in reducing pollution and traffic pressure in the capital.

The Chief Minister said that the use of public transport is not limited to personal convenience only, but it is also a matter of national interest. Every metro journey, every bus journey and every shared journey contributes to saving fuel, reducing carbon emissions and creating a better urban life. If more and more citizens adopt public transport, it will reduce the pressure of vehicles on the roads, reduce pollution, improve travel time and also strengthen the energy security of the country.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that the Delhi government is continuously working to make the public transport network of the capital more powerful, modern and citizen-friendly. Many steps are being taken like expanding the metro network, increasing the number of electric buses, modernizing bus services, strengthening inter-state connectivity and encouraging shared mobility.

The aim of these efforts is to provide Delhi with a clean, green and future-ready transportation system. The government is not limited to just making policies, but the public representatives themselves are also trying to motivate the citizens by using public transport.
