Defense Minister Rajnath Singh’s big attack on the opposition, said – students are being made political weapons

July 22, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has expressed concern over the ongoing protests in Delhi against the paper leak and has also attacked the opposition. He said that it is very unfortunate that some people are trying to use the students and youth of our country as a political weapon to fulfill their political interests. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, our government is fully committed to fulfilling the aspirations and welfare of students and youth.

He further said that it is our responsibility to listen to every concern of our students and resolve it. I have full confidence that the aware, mature and intelligent youth of India understand such misleading attempts very well and will choose the path of progress, development and nation-building. Said through a post on social media platform X (Twitter) that ‘We are committed to ensure that no injustice is done to any person, especially our students and youth. The atmosphere of anger created by some opposition leaders is just a failed attempt to confuse and mislead the public, especially our children and youth.

‘If the opposition is serious then it should debate in Parliament’

Rajnath Singh further said, ‘We are completely sensitive to the feelings and concerns of the youth. Parliament is in session and the government has expressed its desire to have a meaningful debate on every issue, but the opposition is making unfair efforts to resolve the issues not in Parliament but on the streets. In a democracy, Parliament House is the only place to discuss issues, where the opposition is free to express its views. Therefore, if the opposition is serious, it should not obstruct the smooth functioning of the ongoing monsoon session and should draw the attention of the country towards all the issues within the Parliament itself.

The ongoing protests in Delhi are a matter of serious concern. It is extremely unfortunate that some people are trying to use the students and youth of our country as a political tool to fulfill their political interests. Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi leadership of pic.twitter.com/yIQLUiw8xc

16 metro stations of Delhi closed

Meanwhile, in view of CJP’s protest, Delhi Police is on alert and as a precautionary measure, 16 metro stations of Delhi have been closed, which includes Mandi House. Keeping security in mind, Delhi Police has deployed a large number of security forces outside these metro stations. Earlier, many leaders and workers including Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav had demonstrated near the Prime Minister’s residence, after which these leaders were taken into custody. However, he was later released.
