After a long wait, the schedule of Panchayat and urban body elections in Rajasthan has been decided. The state government and the State Election Commission presented the complete timeline of the elections in the Rajasthan High Court, after which the High Court disposed of the petition. The court has made it clear that the election process will have to be completed within the stipulated time limit and no additional time will be given now.

While giving information about the election program to the High Court, the State Government and the State Election Commission said that the commission constituted regarding OBC reservation will submit its report to the government on August 5. After this, the process of seat reservation and lottery will be completed from August 6 to August 15.
Municipal election program will be released on August 17
The government told the High Court that the detailed program of urban body elections will be released on August 17. After this, the nomination process will start from August 22 and the entire process of urban body elections will be completed by September 20.
Whereas notification for Panchayat elections will be issued on 23rd September. After this, elections will be conducted in a phased manner and the entire process of Panchayat elections will be completed by 15th November.
Acting Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court S.P. The division bench of Justice Sharma and Justice Sanjit Purohit disposed of the petition by taking on record the program presented by the government and the State Election Commission. The court clearly said that now elections will have to be held within the stipulated time limit and no additional time will be given under any circumstances.
Panchayat-body elections in Rajasthan long pending
The petitioner in the case and former Congress MLA Sanyam Lodha welcomed the High Court’s decision. However, he said that the government which talks about one country, one election, should have conducted Panchayat and urban body elections simultaneously. He alleged that the government was not willing to hold elections, but after the strictness of the High Court, it had to announce the election schedule.
Local body and Panchayat elections in Rajasthan were pending for a long time. A petition was filed in the High Court regarding the delay in elections. Now, after the presentation of the program decided by the government and the Election Commission, the way for holding elections has been cleared.
