Aam Aadmi Party’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday criticized the Center over the prices of petrol and diesel, saying that the prices of petrol should also have fallen because global crude oil prices have come down. He said that the price of crude oil in the international market has fallen from $115 per barrel to $70/barrel. In our country, the number of E-20 was increased to 102. If the price of crude oil has come down, it should also come down in the country. According to our calculation it should be Rs 82 per liter and if it is converted into E 20 then it should be Rs 70.
He said that similarly diesel should also be reduced. If it reduces then inflation will reduce. The government can say that they are compensating for the loss.
Kejrival Said that whenever the price of crude oil was low. They did not reduce the prices. He asked that if the losses incurred during the war could not be set off from the bumper profits? Reduce the Rs 102 that we are being charged now.
Letter written regarding E20
Earlier on Wednesday, Kejriwal had written a letter to 29 automobile manufacturers seeking written clarification on the impact of E20 ethanol-blended fuel on vehicle mileage and engine safety. He had asked the companies to reply within seven days.
Arvind Kejriwal said separate letters were sent to Maruti Suzuki India, Toyota Kirloskar Motor and Hero MotoCorp, while the remaining 26 manufacturers received a separate letter seeking their views on the use of E20 fuel and consumer concerns.
Kejriwal lashed out at the plight caused by monsoon
On the problem of waterlogging in Delhi with the onset of monsoon, Arvind Kejriwal said that I laugh that they repeatedly show the picture of Minto Bridge, which was repaired by our government during its tenure. It is filled with so much water, there is so much garbage, so many roads are breaking, within a year they have made Delhi such a condition that people had never seen such a condition of Delhi.
