
Ukraine has carried out major drone attacks on Russian-controlled Crimea and Russia’s Krasnodar region. A total of 5 people have died in these attacks. Four people died and 28 were injured in Crimea, while one person died in the Krasnodar region. Crimean Governor Sergei Aksyonov said that in view of the situation after the attacks, the sale of petrol and diesel to the general public and private businesses has been temporarily stopped throughout Crimea. Now fuel will be given only to those government agencies which are involved in security, emergency services and other important government works.
Ukraine has significantly increased drone attacks on Crimea in recent times. Crimea is a very important area for Russia, because Russia’s Black Sea Fleet is present here. Ukraine is continuously targeting the supply lines and military structures of this area. Due to these attacks, fuel crisis has also arisen in Crimea, while the tourism season is also going on there.
Attack on oil infrastructure in Krasnodar
On the other hand, a major drone attack also took place in the Krasnodar region of Russia. According to local officials, Ukraine targeted an oil transport center. A person present on a passenger ferry died in this attack. Also a fire broke out in a big oil terminal. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has also confirmed this attack.
Russia claims – shot down 239 Ukrainian drones
Russia’s Defense Ministry claims that its air defense system shot down 239 Ukrainian drones overnight. Despite this, some drones were successful in reaching their targets. Crimea’s electricity network has also been damaged by the attacks.
According to the local electricity company, power supply has been disrupted in many areas. Apart from this, ferry service in the Kerch Strait located between Crimea and Krasnodar region was stopped for some time. Traffic on the important bridge connecting Crimea to Russia also remained closed for more than 9 hours. Due to this, 11 trains ran late and passengers had to face a lot of trouble.
