This decision has dealt a big blow to MP Omraj Nimbalkar, who had formed a separate group from UBT.
A special CBI court has acquitted all nine accused in the murder case of former Congress leader Pawanraje Nimbalkar and his driver Samad Qazi in 2006, citing lack of evidence. Those acquitted also include former NCP leader Padmasingh Patil, whom the CBI had named as the main accused in the alleged conspiracy. Padmasingh Patil is also the elder brother of Sunetra Pawar.
