
With the aim of further strengthening the security of the country’s international borders and boosting the morale of the soldiers deployed on the border, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Lankamura Border Out Post (BOP) of Tripura on June 5 (tomorrow). This will be the third border visit of Home Minister Amit Shah within the last 15 days. Earlier, he had inspected the border areas of Sanchu in Rajasthan and Bhuj in Gujarat and reviewed the security arrangements. In such a situation, the Tripura tour is being seen as the Center’s increasing activism regarding border security in the North-Eastern region.
During his visit, the Home Minister will directly interact with the Border Security Force (BSF) soldiers and will also participate in a high-tea program with them. During this, he will get information about the preparations, challenges and needs of the soldiers deployed on the border. It is believed that his dialogue will give a message of boosting the morale of the soldiers and the government’s commitment towards the security forces.
Will lay the e-foundation stone of these projects
During the visit, Amit Shah will also lay the e-foundation stone of BSF residential complex, soldiers’ quarters, guard complex and RRC building of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). This is expected to further strengthen the security infrastructure and basic facilities in the border areas.
On the occasion of World Environment Day on June 5, the Home Minister will also plant trees in the Lankamura border post complex. This program will demonstrate the government’s commitment towards environmental protection and green development.
Amit Shah will hold a high level review meeting
During his stay in Tripura, Amit Shah will hold a high-level review meeting with senior officials of the state government, central security agencies and BSF. In the meeting, there is likely to be a detailed discussion on security of India-Bangladesh border, surveillance system, prevention of illegal infiltration and use of modern technologies.
Vigilance of India-Bangladesh international border boosted
According to sources, this visit of the Home Minister is being considered important towards making the technology-based surveillance system on the India-Bangladesh international border more effective. The government is promoting the use of modern technologies like drones, sensors, smart fencing and digital surveillance in border security, so that activities like infiltration and smuggling can be effectively controlled.
Top priority for development and security of North Eastern states
Home Minister Amit Shah’s frequent visits to the border areas indicate that the Central Government is giving top priority to the development and security of the North-Eastern states along with securing the country’s borders. The Tripura visit will not only provide new strength to the border security system but will also help in establishing better coordination between development and security in the region.
