
The Ministry of External Affairs has issued an official response to the talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who came to India for the BRICS National Security Advisor (NSA) meeting. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that during the meeting, India’s National Security Advisor (NSA) said that stable, predictable and constructive bilateral relations between India and China will play an important role in enhancing trust and deepening mutual understanding between the two countries.
In the meeting, the NSA also emphasized that both the countries should continue to show sensitivity towards each other’s core interests and major concerns. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, this is in line with India’s broader approach, which is based on mutual sensitivity, mutual interests and mutual respect. This statement of India has come at a time when high-level dialogue is going on between the two countries during the meeting of BRICS National Security Advisors and efforts are being made towards normalizing bilateral relations.
Movement of Indian ships continues from Hormuz
The spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has also given information about the situation of Indian ships in the Strait of Hormuz. Amid tensions in West Asia, India has confirmed that the movement of Indian ships from Hormuz continues. Since the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on June 17, eleven ships carrying crude oil and fertilizers have left for India, while ten more ships present in the Gulf region are expected to return safely soon.
Concern expressed over the safety of Hindu community in Bangladesh
Meanwhile, the Foreign Ministry has expressed concern about the safety of the Hindu community in Bangladesh. India has reacted to the news of vandalism of Hindu statues and the subsequent protests in the country. India has expressed hope that the Bangladeshi government will take strict action against extremist elements and ensure the safety of the minority Hindu community. The MEA spokesperson stressed that India is keeping a close eye on the situation. Be it the issue of protecting national interests on the global stage or the issue of security of minorities in neighboring countries.
