Former Chief Minister of West Bengal and Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee on Sunday (May 24) launched a scathing attack on the central government. He termed the Center as state terrorism. She said that she will continue her legal fight to protect the Constitution and will not back down from any type of repressive action.
Addressing party workers and common people in Kolkata, Mamata Banerjee highlighted the past developmental works of her administration and compared them with the current sabotage. He said that his government always did the politics of development and rehabilitation, whereas in the present era, efforts are being made to loot, vandalize and erase the traces.
‘People are being destroyed’
The former CM said that when the Kalyani Express Bridge was constructed, 43 houses were affected. His government had rehabilitated all those families by building similar houses. He alleged that now people are being uprooted in the name of administrative action.
Mamata’s warning to the Center
In his address, he warned the Central Government and said that after falling from power in Delhi, you will have to face the consequences of your deeds. We are waiting for that day.
‘I will see who has more power…’
The TMC supremo further challenged the use of force citing the legal system and said that the Constitution is the final authority. She said, ‘I want to remind the judiciary that they are the true protectors of the law… I will continue the legal fight against state terrorism. I will see which has more power – in the Constitution or in the barrel of the gun.
