Cocktail: Ranbir Kapoor left superhit film because of Deepika Padukone, then Saif Ali Khan won silver

Ranbir Kapoor Rejected Cocktail: Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone have worked together in three films so far. But there is another film in which both were to be seen together but it was rejected by Ranbir Kapoor himself. Ranbir Kapoor had rejected 'Cocktail' because of Deepika Padukone, which later proved to be a superhit. Deepika Padukone, Diana Penty and Saif Ali Khan were seen in 'Cocktail', released in 2012. Saif Ali Khan played the role of Gautam in this movie. However, Saif Ali Khan was not the first choice for this role. The makers were going to cast Ranbir Kapoor or Imran Khan in 'Cocktail'. But the matter could not be resolved. In a recent conversation, Saif Ali Khan told that Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty had been selected for the film, but the makers were having difficulty in finding the lead hero of the film, because the role of Veronica (Deepika) was very strong. Saif Ali Khan said, "I remember some names he asked. I think he also asked Imran (Khan) and Ranbir (Kapoor). He had also asked some other people and I said, 'Okay, come on, I will do it.' And I think they all should be thankful to me that I did this role. Along with rejecting 'Cocktail', Ranbir Kapoor had also advised Deepika Padukone not to do this film. However, the actress listened to her gut and her performance became one of her most memorable performances till date in Hindi cinema. After the release of the film, Ranbir Kapoor also admitted that his decision was wrong.
