
An organization named Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), formed on May 16 after the remarks of the country’s Chief Justice Surya Kant, is in the headlines these days. This is being discussed a lot on social media. Meanwhile, a lawyer from Panipat, Haryana has filed an application in the Election Commission. He has demanded to register the online group CJP in his name.
According to the information, this application has been made under Section 29A of the Public Representation Act, 1951. 35 year old Sudhir Jakhar has applied to the Commission to register CJP as a political party. He has proposed to make himself its national coordinator.
Application to register CJP
Advocate Sudhir Jakhar says that this political initiative will be dedicated to propagating people-centric democratic values and constitutional duties. He said that the main objective of the party is to increase awareness about the fundamental duties of the citizens. He has submitted this application to the Election Secretary for registration under Section 29A of the ‘Representation of the People Act’.
‘CJP founder Abhijeet is abroad’
Jakhar says that he has taken this step because the sentiments of the people across the country are rising against the statement of CJI Surya Kant, in such a situation it is necessary to give him a political platform. Along with this, he also said that CJP founder Abhijit Dipke is abroad and no one knows when he will return, hence he took this step himself.
‘CJP will work within the constitutional ambit’
This application of lawyer Sudhir Jakhar also includes the ‘cockroach’ logo of CJP and Jakhar’s designation as a lawyer. If CJP gets registered in Jakhar’s name, then he can stake his claim on its social media handles. He has made it clear in the application that CJP will work completely within the constitutional ambit. The party has expressed its full allegiance to the Constitution of India, socialism, secularism, democracy and the spirit of the Republic. Along with this, the resolve to maintain the sovereignty, unity and integrity of the country has also been reiterated.
‘CJP will work for democratic reforms’
He said that CJP will work for peaceful and democratic reforms by taking all sections along without any discrimination of religion, caste, gender, language, region or community. He said that as soon as instructions are received from the Election Commission, the party’s constitution, affidavit, membership details and list of office bearers and other necessary documents will also be submitted.
