June 27, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has given 1 month’s time to all the coaching institutes of the capital Delhi to follow the safety standards. He said that the coaching centers which do not have fire audit, necessary safety equipment and building safety arrangements will be sealed. The Chief Minister said that based on the recommendations of the High Court committee, a law will be brought to ensure the security of coaching institutes. He also appealed to the students that if their coaching institute is unsafe, then they should inform the government about it through message, email or phone.

The Chief Minister said, ‘A time of one month has been fixed for all the coaching institutes running in Delhi. Whether their number is 900 or 1000, the number does not matter. What matters is the life and safety of children.

Order for inspection of 923 coaching institutes of Delhi

Earlier recently, news had come that the Delhi government has ordered a large-scale inspection of 923 coaching institutes in the capital Delhi. The decision was taken during a high-level review meeting chaired by Delhi Education, Higher Education and Technical Education Minister Ashish Sood, in which the security arrangements, infrastructure and regulatory compliance at the coaching centers operating in the city were assessed.

Clarifying the government’s stand, Ashish Sood said that the safety and welfare of students will remain the top priority and warned that strict action will be taken against institutions that compromise on mandatory safety standards. The inspection campaign will pay special attention to fire preparedness, adherence to building codes and compliance with other regulatory requirements.

Delhi government alert after Lucknow fire

In fact, after the recent tragic death of 15 children in a coaching center in Lucknow, the Delhi government has taken this decision out of caution. After this incident, inspection of coaching centres, libraries and other educational institutions of Uttar Pradesh has also been intensified. Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) zonal in-charge Devansh Trivedi had recently said that a major coaching center located in Viraj section of Gomti Nagar has been sealed after inspectors found several violations.
