July 19, 2026 by Uma Shankar

An all-party meeting was called in Delhi today, a day before the start of the monsoon session of Parliament. This meeting was presided over by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. Leaders of opposition parties attended this meeting but they walked out of the meeting after 15 minutes. In this meeting, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said, “The monsoon session of Parliament will start from tomorrow. Today the government has called an all-party meeting. We urge all the parties to cooperate in running the monsoon session well. All opposition parties and members of the ruling party should participate well in the bill that the government will bring. The better the Parliament runs, the better it will be for the country. Even if you have to protest, protest with words only, do not create ruckus.”

In the all-party meeting, JDU’s national working president Sanjay Jha said, “Be it the issue of Ram Temple, it is sad and it is related to the sentiments of all of us. The investigation committee is investigating and the process of punishing those who have to be given after investigation is underway. This should not have happened but now that the incident has happened, action is being taken on it.”

decided to walkout

Congress leader Pramod Tiwari said, “Just as whatever has been done to TMC by disregarding the Constitution, Congress has also walked out along with AAP and Shiv Sena to protect the Constitution. The decision has not been taken yet.” In the current party position of political parties in the Lok Sabha, which was released yesterday by the Lok Sabha Secretariat, 20 MPs of the rebel faction of TMC were considered as part of TMC. But the group of 20 rebels was informed about the permission to sit separately in the Lok Sabha. However, Kakoli Ghosh and Sudip Bandopadhyay from the rebel group were invited to the all-party meeting.

‘Disqualification petitions are still pending’

MC MP Mahua Moitra said, “Today the entire opposition including Congress, Samajwadi Party, DMK, JMM, Aam Aadmi Party, National Conference, Left parties and Shiv Sena (UBT) walked out of the all-party meeting in protest. This happened because the number of All India Trinamool Congress, including the members of the so-called NCPI (which is an unrecognized party), is shown as 28 members in the list given by the table office. She said that these so-called rebel 20 MPs are The Speaker has not approved the merger. 20 petitions related to disqualification are still pending.

Seeing these two in the all-party meeting today, TMC opposed it at the beginning of the all-party meeting. TMC said that when these 20 are still part of TMC, then why were these two called as their representatives? In protest, opposition parties staged a symbolic walkout from the meeting. Then everyone went back to the meeting. Lok Sabha MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar said, “20 of our MPs have merged with NCPI. The Speaker has agreed to our point and will make arrangements to give us a separate seat.”

What did MP Dharmendra Yadav say?

On the meeting of all-party floor leaders before the monsoon session of Parliament, Samajwadi Party MP Dharmendra Yadav said, “The new group of 20 MPs who broke away from the Trinamool Congress were called here, while the Speaker has not yet taken any decision on their petition. He said that I believe that the entire process which the government is following is undemocratic and unconstitutional. The government is making every possible effort to weaken the democracy and the opposition is fighting strongly against it.” Has been.”
