TV9 Bharatvarsh spoke to Delhi Transport Minister Dr. Pankaj Singh on the issue of videos and claims of hacking e-rickshaw through BAT BMS app going viral on social media and asked what is the preparation of Delhi government to deal with such problems? On this, the Transport Minister said, ‘Like you, I have also seen the video on social media, now we have asked the department to get the correct information about it, I think Delhi Police will also be working on this and as soon as the truth comes on this, Delhi Police will do its work’.
Dr. Pankaj Singh said that Delhi Police will take action from its side on the matter and the Transport Department will also take action, but it is important to know its truth now. Appropriate action will be taken only after knowing everything.
Question: If such an incident happens to an e-rickshaw driver in Delhi, then where can he lodge his complaint?
answer: Transport Minister Dr. Pankaj Singh said that this issue is a police issue before us, we should go to Delhi Police police station and complain, after that we will know the truth from Delhi Police, because only Delhi Police will investigate. After the investigation, I am confident that the Delhi Police will take appropriate action on this and whoever comes out after their investigation, the Transport Department will also take action, that is, they will take whatever legal action is required.
Question: Some people are now demanding that this controversial app be banned in the country, so will the government also make this demand from the Central Government?
answer: The Transport Minister said that the truth should be checked once, then if there is truth in it then it is a serious matter. This serious matter will be taken very seriously and we will take whatever necessary action needs to be taken.
Question: If Delhi government is going to bring a separate policy for e-rickshaw, will it also include such security related issues?
answer: Dr. Pankaj Singh said that this issue which has come up now will be cleared only after investigation, if there is any such app then we will definitely take action on it. Now let’s check the truth. After that necessary action will be taken.
Question: What other points will there be in the policy to ensure safe travel by e-rickshaw?
answer: The Transport Minister said that e-rickshaws should be safe, apart from this app they are running safely. They should walk on the line, only adults should drive the rickshaw, so that accountability is fixed, this will be a part of the policy.
What is the whole matter?
In fact, social media is flooded with viral videos showing users remotely deactivating battery rickshaws running on the roads using a Chinese smartphone app called BAT BMS. The app, developed by Chinese company Shenzhen Greenergy Technology, allows users to track and control Bluetooth-enabled lithium batteries, raising concerns over the cybersecurity of India’s fast-growing EV ecosystem.
