The central government was in full alert mode before the ‘Sansad Chalo’ campaign of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) demanding action in the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case. A detailed strategy had already been prepared in view of the possible protests. Security was tightened at an unprecedented level in sensitive areas of New Delhi, especially around the Parliament complex, and police and paramilitary forces were deployed extensively to deal with the protesters.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah himself was continuously monitoring the entire incident on Monday. He took feedback from senior officials of the Home Ministry and Delhi Police from time to time and reviewed the security arrangements of the Parliament complex and sensitive areas.
The police/paramilitary were instructed not to use force or to use minimal force if necessary, although initial inputs to the government indicated that ‘Parliament Chalo’ campaign The number of protesting students may be less than expected. Based on this assessment, a strategy for security and crowd management was prepared.
Nadda met CJP representatives Why did you meet twice?
Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) had called for Sansad Chalo campaign in Delhi. Meanwhile, Union Minister JP Nadda met CJP members Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka. Sources say that there was a meeting between CJP representatives and Union Minister JP Nadda twice.
The first meeting took place at around 11.50 pm, when he came to meet CJP representative JP Nadda. Nadda spoke and asked what is the demand? Then the CJP representatives told the list of demands. Then Nadda said that he did not bring the demand in writing? Give your demand in writing.
After which both the representatives gave a written memorandum of their demands to Union Minister JP Nadda at 4 pm. In the meeting, no assurance or commitment was given by JP Nadda on all three demands of CJP or any of these demands. However, Nadda requested in the meeting to end their protest and help the administration in restoring normalcy.
Amit Shah kept monitoring throughout the day
Union Home Minister Amit Shah himself monitored the entire incident and remained in constant touch with senior officials of the Home Ministry, Delhi Police and other security agencies. Every moment information about the status of the protest, crowd activities and security arrangements was given to the Home Minister, on the basis of which necessary instructions were issued.
Sources say that the security forces were already given clear instructions to exercise maximum restraint while dealing with the protesters and to avoid unnecessary use of force in any situation.
It is being told that Amit Shah had specifically instructed that if the situation goes completely out of control and there is no other option left to maintain law and order, then only the minimum necessary force should be used. Under this strategy, the security agencies remained alert throughout the day and kept taking steps as per the situation.
Why are the number of students less among those protesting?
According to the government, more than 50 lakh students have appeared in the three major examinations conducted so far – NEET, JEE and CUET. Of these, about 10 lakh students would have appeared in the common examination, while more than 40 lakh students would have appeared in various entrance examinations conducted across the country.
In such cases, the counseling and admission process has already started in many cases. According to the government’s assessment, the focus of the genuine candidates is currently focused on admission and counselling, hence the possibility of them joining these protests in large numbers is considered relatively less.
Government sources also say that if we look at the results of NEET exam, the toppers are mostly first-time students and a large number of them are from poor and lower middle class backgrounds.
Sources also say that after the exam question paper was leaked, taking immediate responsibility, worrying about the future of the students, within a month, the exam was conducted again and the result was also declared and the responsibility of those who made mistakes was also fixed.
