Love Story produced by Rajendra Kumar was the debut film of Kumar Gaurav. Vijayta Pandit was seen with Kumar Gaurav in this film. The songs and romantic story of the film were very much liked by the audience. Songs like 'Yaad Aa Rahi Hai' and 'Dekho Maine Dekha Hai Ek Sapna' are still remembered. The success of the film made Kumar Gaurav a star. After the tremendous success of 'Love Story', the audience had high expectations from him, but many of his subsequent films could not do well at the box office. Some films were appreciated, but he could not achieve the same success as his first film. After consecutive unsuccessful films, Kumar Gaurav started distancing himself from the film industry. He worked in some selected films. But with time he almost distanced himself from acting and started paying more attention to his personal life. Kumar Gaurav has said in many interviews that he has no regrets about staying away from Bollywood. He believed that films are not everything in life and he preferred to remain busy with his family and other work. Even though Kumar Gaurav has not been active in films for a long time, he is still remembered as the hero of 'Love Story'. He remains the epitome of romance and innocence for the audience of the 80s and his first film is counted among the memorable films of Indian cinema.
