The competition between America and China in the race of Artificial Intelligence is continuously intensifying. Meanwhile, Tang Ga, founder of Chinese startup Zai, has claimed that China can develop its Mythos-class AI model before 2027. This statement has come at a time when America is trying to limit China’s access to advanced AI technologies. This claim has sparked a new discussion in the global AI industry.
China’s big claim amid America’s sanctions
America has been trying to limit China’s access to advanced AI technologies for a long time. In this direction, first the sale of AI chips to China was banned and later limits were also set on the use of advanced AI models like Mythos 5 and Fable 5. However, now the answer has also started coming from China’s side. Zai founder Tang Ga has said that China may be able to develop Mythos-class AI models before 2027. His statement has come at a time when technological competition between the two countries is reaching new heights.
Differences visible between Elon Musk and Tang Ga
A user on social media platform The post said that China can introduce such a model by the end of 2026. Responding to this, Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that this could possibly happen in the first quarter of 2027. However, Tang GA disagreed with Musk’s opinion and said that it would not take that long. His statement has given rise to a new debate in the AI community.
Why is Mythos-Class AI in discussion?
According to reports, Anthropic’s Mythos-class models are considered extremely powerful. It is claimed that such models have the ability to identify vulnerabilities and bugs present in any software. It is also being said that the Mythos model can detect thousands of bugs that were not discovered before. For this reason, security concerns are also raised regarding these models. If China actually develops a Mythos level AI model, the impact of the sanctions imposed by the US could be reduced to a great extent. At the same time, Zai’s GLM 5.2 model already claims to leave behind many competing models in the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index.
