Taking a big step in the field of Artificial Intelligence and robotics, China has started a digital identity system for humanoid robots. Under this initiative, every robot will be given a unique identification code so that they can be tracked and monitored. The government aims to strengthen security, regulation and governance. This step is being considered a major change in the direction of making future technology controlled and safe. As the use of humanoid robots is increasing, monitoring systems for them are also becoming necessary.
Humanoid robot digital ID program started in China
China has launched a national digital ID program for humanoid robots, which is being called Humanoid Full Lifecycle Management Service Platform. This system was launched on Friday and its purpose is to track every robot from production to recycling. According to the report of South China Morning Post, this initiative will give the government better control over the activities of robots. The system is designed to monitor risks and ensure safety in the growing robotics industry. China is already among the world’s leading countries in AI and robotics technology and this step is being considered as a big effort in the same direction.
Every robot will get unique identification code and tracking system
Under this new system, every humanoid robot will be given a unique digital code which can be tracked throughout its lifecycle. This code will be divided into four parts which will include national identifier for international shipment, manufacturer company code, product model code and serial numbers for different machines. The purpose of this system is to ensure that in case of any problem, complete information about the robot is immediately available. This will not only increase security but will also strengthen transparency and traceability in the industry.
Chinese government aims for security and better AI governance
The Chinese government has started this project under the Humanoid Robotics and Embodied Intelligence Standardization Committee which works under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The government believes that as the use of humanoid robots increases in homes and industries, a strong system will be necessary to control them. The purpose of this guideline is to increase security, improve governance and strengthen industry standards. This will promote the large-scale use of robots in a safe and systematic manner in the future.
Possibility of global ID system for robots in future
Experts believe that this step of China can become an example for other countries of the world in future. Just as today there is an identification system for vehicles and mobiles, in the future, a global ID system may also be necessary for robots. Although this idea may seem futuristic right now, given the increasing use of robots, it may become a necessary policy. This initiative indicates that in the future, robots will also be seen as fully regulated digital entities.
