However, Sanjeev Kapoor was offered this show. But he has rejected the show. Now the chef has also given the reason for refusing the show.
Chef Sanjeev Kapoor has shared an interesting anecdote. He has revealed that he too had received an offer from the show. But he rejected this show because he was getting less fees than Akshay. On this he had said that if he is given even 1 rupee more than Akshay, he will do the show.

Why did Sanjeev Kapoor reject the first season of MasterChef India?
Recently Sanjeev Kapoor has given an interview to Culinary Culture. In this conversation, she told why she had rejected the first season and how she later agreed to do the show. The chef said, “My only condition was that I should be paid only Rs 1 more than Akshay Kumar. This was the first season of MasterChef India and I felt that at that time there was no better option than me for the show. When I was approached for the show, I had kept this condition.”
He further said, “But the producers did not agree to my condition. I did not want to make any kind of compromise, so I decided not to be a part of the show. I was completely happy with this decision.”

Was refused even for guest appearance
Sanjeev Kapoor told that despite repeated requests from the makers, he had refused to even make a guest appearance in the show. He said that many times he was asked, Sir, come just for one episode, but he flatly refused and said that he did not want to be a part of the show.
Sanjeev Kapoor’s entry was in the third season
However, by the third season the situation changed. The show was not getting that much love from the audience. In such a situation, the makers again contacted Sanjeev Kapoor to convince him to do the show. According to reports, to make Sanjeev Kapoor a part of the show, the makers had agreed to accept all their conditions. After this, Sanjeev Kapoor took entry in MasterChef India in 2013. Let us tell you that till now 9 seasons of Master Chef India have come and all the seasons have received a lot of love from the audience.
