This year Chaturmas will start from 25th July. The period of Chaturmas is going to last for about 119 days this year. In such a situation, no auspicious or auspicious work will happen during this time.

Lord Vishnu will rest for 119 days

According to Drik Panchang, Chaturmas starts from Devshayani Ekadashi. This Ekadashi falls on the Ekadashi day of Shukla Paksha of Ashadha month. This year Devshayani Ekadashi is on 25th July. With this, Chaturmas will also begin, while this holy period will end on Friday, November 20, on Devuthani Ekadashi of Kartik Shukla Paksha. That means Lord Vishnu will rest for 119 days.

During Chaturmas comes the months of Shravan, Bhadrapada, Ashwin and Kartik. All these months are very important from religious point of view. During this period, special and holy fast festivals like Sawan, Rakshabandhan, Krishna Janmashtami, Ganesh Chaturthi, Pitru Paksha, Sharadiya Navratri and Diwali are observed.

Auspicious work will start again from Devuthani Ekadashi

According to religious legends, on the day of Devshayani Ekadashi, Lord Shri Hari Vishnu, the protector of the world, goes to rest near Bali, the king of the underworld. After this, he remains in a state of rest for four months and wakes up on the day of Devuthani Ekadashi and takes charge of the world again. With the awakening of Lord Vishnu, all the auspicious and auspicious works including marriage start again.
