
The internal dispute in Punjab Congress is deepening. After the change in the party organization, many big leaders like Charanjit Singh Channi and Sukhjinder Randhawa are said to be angry. Amidst the resentment, party in-charge Bhupesh Baghel formally handed over responsibilities to three working presidents as part of organizational changes. Baghel also made it clear that changing the president is not a game of gudda-guddi. The decision of the high command cannot be reversed.
Amidst the internal strife, Congress in-charge Bhupesh Baghel said, “Changing the president is not a game of Gudda-guddi. Now this decision will not be reversed. Most of the district presidents and committee members of Punjab Congress also wanted the same. It is not a game of Gudda-guddi that someone said and change the president.”
High command does not work under pressure: Baghel
Regarding former chief ministers Charanjit Singh Channi and Sukhjinder Randhawa, Baghel said, “I spoke to them on phone the day before yesterday. They told that they were busy with some work and were out of the city for the past few days, but they will contact me upon their return. Either I can go to their house for tea or they can come to the PCC office.”
Regarding the news of rift within the Punjab Congress before the assembly elections, Bhupesh Baghel said, “The party does not do any work under any kind of pressure on the high command. I do not believe that decisions are taken under pressure nor should it be so. Therefore, the decisions which have already been taken will remain effective.”
Everyone accepts the decision of the high command: Baghel
Earlier, Bhupesh Baghel said that the State Congress meeting was held yesterday. All the representatives who came to the meeting accepted these decisions by voice vote and also thanked the high command. The high command was congratulated on appointing Amarinder Singh Raja Wedding as the state president of the party.
Besides, the three working presidents were also congratulated and the high command was thanked. It was decided by all the district presidents, district heads and State Congress Committee members that the decision of the high command can never be reversed. Is this a game of Gudda-guddi? The decision will not be reversed.
Earlier, according to the order issued by Bhupesh Baghel, three other executive presidents appointed along with State President Amarinder Singh Raja Vading, Sangat Singh Giljian, Sukhwinder Singh Danny, and Rajkumar Verka have been given the responsibility of different zones. These three leaders will coordinate the work of organizations, frontal organizations and various departments in their respective areas with the help of Congress Secretaries.
