Even though Champat Rai’s resignation in the Ram Temple offering theft case has been accepted and his formal ties with the Trust have been broken, his influence in the temple management still seems to be intact. The responsibility of operating the bank accounts of the trust along with interim general secretary Krishna Mohan has been handed over to two trusted close associates of Champat Rai. On July 6, after the resignations of Champat Rai and Anil Mishra were accepted, Krishna Mohan was made the interim general secretary.
He will look after the entire work of the Trust till the appointment of the new General Secretary. CA Chandan Rai and Engineer Jagdish Afley have been appointed to assist him in operating the accounts. This responsibility has been given because the Trust has many accounts in different banks.
Champat Rai’s close relatives continue to play a role in the arrangement
Chandan Rai has been associated with the Trust for a long time and has been looking after audit and other work through Champat Rai. Engineer Jagdish Afley is a resident of Maharashtra. He came to Ayodhya at the time of Pran Pratistha program and stayed here after that. As an associate of Champat Rai, he remained active in various works of temple management. Although Champat Rai is now out of the trust, his close ones still maintain their role in the system.
