Mirzapur The Movie is being produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment and its director is Gurmeet Singh. The screenplay and story has been written by Puneet Krishna. Puneet Krishna has written the story of Mirzapur season one and season two. Apart from this, Tribhuvan Mishra has been a CA topper and a part of the writing team of Bangistan.
Apart from Gurmeet Singh Mirzapur, he had directed films like Inside Edge series and Sharafat Gayi Tel Lene and Phone Bhoot. That means, as a feature film, Mirzapur The Movie is a big project for both of them. Leaving aside actors like Pankaj Tripathi and Ravi Kishan, there is a big opportunity for the rest of the actors in the series too.
How will there be three seasons in three hours?
Although these are theoretical things. Many times new faces have done wonders on the big screen, new actor-directors and new writers have also done wonders. Whether the budget is low or high. It is possible that the audience will rush to the box office to watch Mirzapur movie. But some technical aspects mentioned can become a big challenge. What will be the stance of CBFC?
Since there is no time limit on OTT. There is no control on violence and language in the several hour long episodes, many scenes are very provocative which directly fall in the category of pulp. These things are common in Mirzapur. The difference can be felt between watching it alone and going to a cinema hall. To what extent will CBFC allow what has been shown openly on OTT on the big screen? How will the film be able to give the audience a taste of OTT on this front – obviously this will be a big challenge.
