Celina Jaitley is once again going to be seen in an important role on the big screen. If reports are to be believed, she will soon play the role of Sister Nivedita in the biopic directed by Ram Kamal Mukherjee. In a recent conversation related to this film, Celina described it as the “most personal journey” of her career.

Speaking to Hindustan Times about this biopic, Celina Jaitley said, “Working with a filmmaker like Ram is different from any other acting experience for me. With directors like him, you don’t just play a character, you dedicate yourself to becoming the soul of that era.” Celina further says that her association with Sister Nivedita was there even when she had not even thought of playing the character of Swami Vivekananda’s famous disciple on screen. The actress said, “I had no idea that I would ever be selected for this role in the future.”
Who was Sister Nivedita?
For information, let us tell you that Sister Nivedita was a foreign disciple of Swami Vivekananda, who was born in Ireland in 1867 as Margaret Noble. She was named ‘Nivedita’ by Swami Vivekananda in 1898. She met him for the first time in London in 1895 and later came to India as his disciple. Apart from advocating women empowerment, she is also remembered for her social work.
