If you have lost the records of your old EPF (Employees’ Provident Fund) account during change of job or have created different PF accounts due to working in many companies, then now there is news of relief. Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has made it much easier for its members to find old jobs and related PF records through its new Service History feature. With the help of this feature, employees can see the complete records of all employment and Member ID related to their UAN (Universal Account Number) at one place.
You will get complete job history in one click
The Service History feature available on EPFO’s new unified member portal shows employees details of their entire employment. In this, information is available about when in which company one worked, which Member ID was issued during that period and for how long the contribution was deposited in EPF. This will benefit the most those employees who have changed jobs several times and did not transfer their PF accounts on time.
It will be easy to find old PF account
Often, after changing jobs, employees create a new PF account, but the balance of the old account remains there. Many times employees do not even remember how many PF accounts they have. In such cases, the Service History feature provides information about all past and present Member IDs. With this, employees can easily identify their old account and, if needed, link or transfer it to the existing UAN.
Help will also be available from E-PRAAPTI platform
EPFO has also recently launched E-PRAAPTI platform. Through this platform, members can trace the old EPF account with the help of Aadhaar, Member ID or other available information. If any account is not linked to UAN, the process of re-linking it has now become easier than before. This will help in activating PF accounts lying dormant for years.
EPFO’s emphasis on digital services
EPFO has been continuously strengthening its digital services for some time. After features like online claim settlement, automatic PF transfer, easy KYC update and new unified portal, Service History feature is also being considered a big step in this direction. Its objective is to provide most of the services related to their PF online to the employees without going to the EPFO office.
Experts say that all EPF members must log in to their UAN portal from time to time and check their service history. This will ensure that all their past employment records are recorded correctly and there will be no problem in future at the time of PF transfer or withdrawal.
