Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Bakai strongly criticized Italy. Italy had claimed that it never helped America in the war against Iran, but it had provided ‘technical and logistical’ assistance. Bakai called it a serious violation of international law. “This is a contradiction and a false argument, the purpose of which is to avoid responsibility for complicity in a grave international wrongdoing,” he said in a post on Twitter.
Iran publicly denied any aid or assistance to the attackers, while openly acknowledging the ‘technical and logistical’ assistance that made possible and facilitated the illegal US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran. Providing assistance to the attackers is a clear and direct contribution to the waging of an illegal war. This is a serious violation of international law.
This is a glaring contradiction and a fellacious argument aimed at evading responsibility for complicity in a grave internationally wrongful act: publicly denying any aid or assistance to the aggressors, while openly acknowledging the technical and logistical support that pic.twitter.com/8CyqbMo5MP

Italian Foreign Minister spoke to Araghchi
Earlier, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani spoke on phone with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and made it clear that Italy has never taken part in any military action nor has it allowed its base to be used for war against Iran. Tajani appealed for complete opening of the Strait of Hormuz.
Italy did not take part in military action
In a post on X, he said, I spoke to Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi. Italy has never taken part in any military action nor has it given permission to use its bases for war against Iran. We have fully complied with the treaties made with America.
He spoke with the Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs. @araghchi. Italy has not taken any part in any military initiative and has not authorized their use on the basis of war actions against Iran, in the most rigorous respect of the treaties with the United States. I asked that pic.twitter.com/9LC5ad7r9C

Appeal to completely open the Strait of Hormuz
He said that I appealed to completely open the Strait of Hormuz, so that all the stuck Italian cargo ships can pass. The reopening of the Italian Embassy in Tehran is a strong signal for dialogue, and will also allow the resumption of economic and cultural ties.
