
The Election Commission of India on Monday announced by-elections for three assembly seats in Bihar, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. The voting date for this election is 30 July 2026. The last date for filing nomination is 13th July. Scrutiny of nominations will be held on July 14. And July 16 will be the last date for withdrawal of names. The results of this election will be declared by August 4. This election is for Bankipur seat of Bihar, Manjalpur seat of Gujarat and Datia seat of Madhya Pradesh.
In Bihar, by-election for Bankipur seat became necessary after the resignation of sitting member Nitin Naveen on 30 March 2026. This seat is lying vacant after his withdrawal from the state assembly. The seat in Manjalpur assembly constituency became vacant after the death of Yogeshbhai Narandas Patel on 2 June 2026 in Gujarat. ECI has decided to hold by-elections to fill this seat for the remaining term of the Assembly. At the same time, in Madhya Pradesh, Datia seat became vacant due to the disqualification of Rajendra Bharti on 2 April 2026.
The Election Commission of India has issued the election schedule for the by-election to the 22-Datia Assembly constituency in Madhya Pradesh following the vacancy caused by the disqualification of the sitting MLA.

By-elections are being conducted to fill the vacant seats.
It was told in the notification that this disqualification has happened under the provisions of Section 8 of the ‘Representation of the People Act, 1951’ and Article 191(1)(e) of the Constitution of India. The respective state governments have published the ECI notification in their extraordinary gazette for information to the general public and concerned people.

In the notification issued in the special gazette of Gujarat government, it has been said that by-election is being conducted to fill the vacant seat in the assembly. The last date for filing nominations for Manjalpur by-election is 13th July, scrutiny will take place on 14th July.
