Broom Vastu Tips: Broom should be kept hidden in the house, if you make a mistake then poverty will prevail!

June 24, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Broom Placement for Wealth: In Sanatan Dharma, broom is not only used for cleaning, but it is also considered to be the form of Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth. Broom is worshiped on Diwali so that there is happiness and prosperity in the house. It is said that where the broom is respected and the rules related to it are followed, poverty never enters there, hence there are rules regarding the broom.

Since childhood, children are taught to never step on a broom and to keep it in such a place where it does not have to be moved again and again. Not only this, the broom should never be made to stand upright, doing so may anger Goddess Lakshmi and this may lead to discord and financial loss in the house. According to Vastu Shastra and Hindu beliefs, it is considered appropriate to keep the broom hidden inside the house. It should be kept hidden in such a way that the guests coming and going in the house do not notice it.

Keeping broom in open causes financial loss

Keeping the broom anywhere in the open can spread negative energy in the house and create financial problems, hence it should be kept hidden behind the door or in a store room of the house. It is believed that if an outsider’s eyes fall on the broom, it has a bad effect on the prosperity of the house.

Broom should not be made to stand straight

According to Vastu Shastra, the broom should never be kept upright. A broom standing straight creates an atmosphere of discord and tension in the house. It should always be kept in a flat and horizontal position. Also, keep it at a place where outsiders coming to the house cannot see it immediately. Just as we hide our property, similarly the broom should also be kept away from sight.
