Alipore Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rain in North Bengal throughout the week. Red alert has been issued. Very heavy rain is expected in Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Kalimpong, Cooch Behar. Orange alert has been issued in these districts. The Meteorological Department says that Dooars may receive more than 200 mm of rain in a day.
Many tourists coming to North Bengal are facing problems due to heavy rains, landslides and waterlogging. In such a situation, the state government has already started a helpline for them. Apart from this, Public Works Department Minister Ajay Kumar Poddar held a high-level virtual review meeting on the situation in North Bengal. Apart from him, Secretary Antara Acharya, District Magistrates of Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar and Kalimpong districts and senior officials of the Public Works Department were present in the meeting.
Kolkata’s temperature dropped due to rain

The temperature in Jhargram, West Medinipur, West Burdwan, Purulia and Bankura will be between 38 to 40 degrees Celsius. However, the temperature will start decreasing from Saturday and Sunday.
