Under this, changes like new safety features, parental control and study mode are being made in ChatGPT.
Chatgpt will be separate for under 18 years of age
OpenAI said that new teen features are being added to ChatGPT for users under 18 years of age. If the system detects that the user is under 18 years of age, he or she will automatically be sent to the Teen Experience. In this mode, more security will be provided than before so that children can use AI responsibly. The company says that its aim is not to keep children away from AI, but to teach them to use it safely.
Break reminder and new controls for parents
Under the new feature, if a teenager uses ChatGPT for a long time, he will see a reminder advising him to take breaks in between. Apart from this, parents will now be able to change some of the controls installed in ChatGPT as per their need. With this they will be able to decide how the child should use AI. OpenAI says that this will help families in safe digital use of children.
AI will not answer directly in study mode
OpenAI has also strengthened the study mode. In this mode ChatGPT will try to explain step by step instead of giving direct answers, so that students can reach the solution themselves. According to the company, more security measures than ever have been implemented for teen users on sensitive topics like violent content, suicide-related content and dangerous viral trends. Its purpose is to improve learning and protect against risky content.
What is special in the Child Safety Blueprint?
OpenAI has also released a child safety blueprint along with new features. In this, many suggestions have been given at the legal, technical and operational level to prevent sexual exploitation and abuse of children through AI. The company said that in preparing this blueprint, it has also included suggestions received from organizations like National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Attorney General Alliance and Thorn. The focus of the blueprint is on strengthening laws on inappropriate content created or altered by AI, better reporting and adding safeguards to AI systems from the beginning.
